Welcome to my workshop in the Cotswolds. With a dummy hammer and tungsten-tipped chisel, I design and carve by hand in limestone, sandstone and slate.
I carve bespoke commissions ranging from memorials, opening plaques, house signs, coats of arms and heraldry.

Welcome to the workshop. This is the place for beautifully carved letters in stone, carved by hand using the tools that have been used for millennia: the good old hammer and chisel.

From my workshop in the Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton, I specialise in bespoke memorials, opening plaques and heraldry.

With over ten years’ experience of working in stone and eight years specialising in hand-carved lettering under master carver Fergus Wessel, I provide a friendly and highly professional service designing and carving in stone and slate.

I work closely with my clients to form the vision they have for a unique commission, from the initial consultation all the way through to the installation of the stone.

Please get in touch if you’re looking to commission a carving in stone such as a headstone or a memorial tablet and I’d be very happy to discuss it with you.

If you’d like to know what the process of commissioning a headstone looks like, I can take you through the steps here.
